Praise be to our gratitude to pray for the presence of Allah SWT because with His grace and grace, the Pertamina University Environmental Engineering Study Program can stand tall and participate in contributing to students, society, nation, and state. The establishment of the Pertamina University Environmental Engineering Study Program is one of the efforts of Pertamina University to meet the needs of the community in the era of modernization and globalization which is growing rapidly.

Pertamina University’s Environmental Engineering Study Program is here to provide comprehensive solutions to increasingly high environmental challenges in protecting and preserving the environment, and preventing damage in line with the development of natural resource exploitation and exploitation activities, both in the domestic and industrial sectors. Environmental issues arising from the exploitation and utilization of these natural resources include:

  1. Lack of clean water,
  2. Environmental pollution of water, air, and soil,
  3. Waste management and treatment,
  4. Global warming and climate change.

A graduate/undergraduate of Environmental Engineering has an important role to play in dealing with various environmental issues. This is in line with the Vision of Environmental Engineering itself, namely “To become a World Class Study Program in the Field of Environmental Engineering, especially to Support the Activities of the Energy Industry by 2035 at the latest”.

To prepare Environmental Engineering graduates who are professional and competent in their fields, teaching and education in Environmental Engineering are carried out by lecturers who are graduates from well-known universities both at home and abroad and have the practical experience and extensive networks with practitioners both inside and outside. country. The learning method is carried out with an active learning approach based on Student-Centered Learning, which means that students as learning objects and lecturers become learning facilitators, so it is hoped that the learning method can provide understanding and learning experiences for students. Support from PT Pertamina (Persero) in the form of guest lectures, interactive discussions, sharing of teaching materials, field trips, and other facilities are also supporting factors in producing graduates who are successful and competent in the field of Environmental Engineering and are widely absorbed by the industry.

The curriculum developed and offered by Pertamina University’s Environmental Engineering Study Program is based on national standards: the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) and international standards: Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Curriculum development has involved a review process with various practitioners and academics in the field of Environmental Engineering. The courses offered have also been adjusted to the needs of the labor market and keep abreast of the latest issues in the field of Environmental Engineering and are supported by adequate facilities and infrastructure.

We hope that Environmental Engineering graduates can become superior and competitive graduates who can build the nation as a form of utilizing the results of academic studies in the field of engineering and environmental management. Finally, we hope that the Pertamina University Environmental Engineering Study Program will continue to progress and provide the best contribution to all parties. This support and enthusiasm will certainly be the most valuable capital to navigate the journey of Environmental Engineering to achieve its vision as a World Class Study Program and participate in the intellectual life of the nation, the State of Indonesia.
